Central's third graders carved Red Delicious apples to create unique heads for their Apple-Head Dolls. Using a variety of recycled materials such as yogurt containers, shampoo bottles and bits and pieces of fabric and ribbon, the students worked with parents and volunteers to create these enchanting figures.
The Apple-Head Dolls are on display at the Downtown Carnegie Library, 302 Ferry St. SW.

Leaf Man
We read the book "Leaf Man" by Lois Ehlert which features people and animals made of leaves and twigs. The children then collected their own leaves and twigs from nature and made leaf men with their families as homework. They created wonderful works of art... Eileen Gibb, Kindergarten
